Overview

As a UX Designer for the UniFi Network Web App, I focused on simplifying network management workflows and improving usability for IT professionals. My primary challenge was creating solutions that were powerful enough for enterprise users while remaining intuitive for less experienced customers. Working on UniFi and other networking products deepened my expertise in designing for enterprise environments. My contributions spanned SD-WAN Site Magic, network settings (Wi-Fi & more), dashboard, ensuring a scalable and efficient user experience and much more.

Key Contributions

Strategic UX Recommendations: Proposed improvements to the information architecture and interaction patterns, ensuring a more intuitive user experience.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Worked closely with product managers and engineers to align design decisions with business and technical requirements.
Feedback-Driven Iteration: Designs evolved through an iterative process, incorporating insights from stakeholders and alpha users to refine usability.
Design System Contribution: Ensured consistency across UniFi products by leveraging and contributing to scalable UI components.
Prototyping & Validation: Created interactive Figma prototypes to facilitate discussions, gather feedback, and improve interaction flows.

Outcome

The features I contributed to—including the dashboard, Wi-Fi & network settings, Client Analyser, and SD-WAN Site Magic — have been well-received, providing users with powerful yet intuitive tools to manage their networks efficiently. The scalable and insight-driven design ensures that UniFi Network can cater to both small-scale users and large enterprise deployments, highlighting my ability to design for diverse user needs.
